[ARCHIVED] Healthy Lenawee Community Cook Book

Healthy Lenawee Cookbook

The Lenawee County Health Department (LCHD) is pleased to announce a new initiative from our Community Health Navigator program, the Healthy Lenawee Community Cookbook.  With a collection of healthy recipes from throughout the County, the Cookbook will be published in late 2023 for utilization by Lenawee County residents in 2024.

“We are very excited about this new cookbook,” explains the Lenawee County Health Officer, Monica Hunt. “We will be collecting healthy recipes throughout the County as our Community Health Navigators do workshops throughout Lenawee and online. We are looking for family recipes from our residents that they would like to share with all of Lenawee as we work to become a healthier community.”

Residents looking to contribute to the cookbook are invited to submit recipes on the Lenawee County Health Department website at LenaweeHealthDepartment.org.  Paper forms will also be available at community events attended by Lenawee County Health Department staff. All submissions will be collected from members of the community until October 31, 2023.

“We will be sharing these local, healthy, family recipes with our community throughout the next year,” explains Hunt. “Not only through a digital cookbook that can be accessed while you cook at home, or through recipes shared on social media.  We plan on printing copies and distributing them at events, as well as placing copies throughout our local food pantries.”
