COVID-19 Update to County Services:

The safety of our residents and employees is of primary concern. Therefore, as we begin to reopen county buildings for services, we want to let you know what you can expect. We are committed to providing you county services while doing our part to stop the spread of this virus.

The Register of Deeds Office is open with the following safety measures.

  • One person is allowed at the counter at a time
  • Research Vault access is by appointment only. Please call the office at (517)264-4538 to schedule a time.
  • Screening requirements are in place upon entering the building and prior to entering any of the offices
  • Screening includes answering a series of questions and having your temperature taken
  • Floors have been marked to allow for appropriate social distancing and wearing a face covering is required

 We are temporarily located in the Annex Building at 113 W. Front Street, Adrian, MI, due to the old courthouse renovation.

Property Owner Alert

  1. **Alert to property owners who have received a letter from a commercial service offering a certified copy of a deed**
    The Lenawee County Register of Deeds is aware that several commercial services have sent letters directly to property owners offering to provide certified copies of their deed via mail for as much as $83.00 per deed.
    The same document is available to property owners for as little as $2.00 from the Register of Deeds Office.
