Board of Commissioners Rules & Regulations 2025 (PDF)


MCL Act 156 of 1851:  AN ACT to define the powers and duties of the county boards of commissioners of the several counties, and to confer upon them certain local, administrative and legislative powers; and to prescribe penalties for the violation of the provisions of this act.

The Rules and Regulations were developed for use by the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners. The Rules were designed with the following guidelines in mind: the Board must act as a body; the Board should proceed in the most efficient manner possible; the Board must act by at least a majority vote; and every member must have an equal opportunity to participate in decision-making.
