The Lenawee County Health Department (LCHD) pleased to announce that the E. coli advisory for Hayes State Park beach has been lifted. Recent water samples collected on July 11, 2024 have shown bacteria levels below the state's safety threshold.
The advisory was initially issued on July 10, 2024 following water samples collected on July 8, 2024 that indicated elevated E. coli levels. This precautionary measure was taken to protect public health while follow-up testing was conducted.
The latest results confirm that the water at Hayes State Park beach is now safe for swimming and recreational activities.
Routine beach monitoring will continue to ensure water quality remains within safe limits. Beachgoers are encouraged to always practice good habits and hygiene before, during, and after coming into contact with surface water.
