About the Board of Health
Local authority and control are provided to the Lenawee County Health Department by the Lenawee County Board of Commissioners. The Board of Commissioners has provided a five-member Board of Health that meets monthly and serves in an advisory capacity and as a review board for department activities and policies.
The Board of Health identifies public health problems and concerns, establishes priorities, and advises The Board of Commissioners and the Health Department regarding community health matters and possible solutions. Board members assist the health department in informing the community and Commissioners of health department programs.
The Board of Health advises the Board of Commissioners on issues that relate to public health problems, public health policy, and public health planning.
