        The Road Patrol Division of the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office provides regular patrol services to the twenty-two (22) Townships and Villages located within the 786 square miles of Lenawee County.  The Road Patrol is charged with patrolling 1,522 miles of County roads and 154 miles of State highways, as well as providing police services to the 102,000 citizens in Lenawee County.  The Division provides additional part-time contract patrol services to four (4) Villages within Lenawee County.  The Division is supervised by one (1) Lieutenant and four (4) Sergeants who provide the foundation for the Department's Community Policing philosophy.  The men and women of the Road Patrol Division strive to continually develop and promote this partnership through professional excellence and service.

        The Lenawee County Road Patrol Division strives to promote traffic safety through education and enforcement.  Additional alcohol and seatbelt enforcement details are scheduled several times a year in conjunction with the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning.  Additional functions of the Road Patrol Division include primary response to all types of complaints from citizens, criminal investigations, accident investigations, warrant service, property checks, process serving, and inmate transportation.  Within the Road Patrol Division, there are two (2) Deputies assigned to the Secondary Road Patrol Unit.  This Unit provides traffic enforcement to secondary (County) roads throughout the County.

        There are, also, eight (8) officers assigned to the Department's Motorcycle Unit.  These officers provide primary service at events such as parades, funerals, subdivision patrol, and are assigned to work at the Michigan International Speedway during the races held there.
