LENAWEE COUNTY
SHERIFF'S OFFICE
RECORDS DIVISION
2008

SUBMITTED BY LIEUTENANT CLETUS SMITH

Considering the Sheriff's Office in the form of a wheel, the Records Division would be considered the hub of the Sheriff's Office, due to the fact that all records/reports and files filter through the Records Division at some point. They are responsible for keeping the records of the Sheriff's Office, which consists of keeping and processing of all department incident reports, requests, firearm permits and registrations, concealed weapons permits, fingerprints for identity purposes, background checks, freedom of information requests, accident reports and traffic citations.

The Records Division is staffed by four clerks, under the supervision of a Lieutenant.

A request for any report or the registration of firearms may be done at the Records Office during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday.  Concealed Weapons Permits are processed on Wednesday only, during regular business hours.  The telephone number is (517) 263-0524, ext. 2030.
