LENAWEE COUNTY
CENTRAL DISPATCH
2008 ANNUAL REPORT
SUBMITTED BY JAY GLIWA,
LENAWEE COUNTY CONSOLIDATED CENTRAL DISPATCH MANAGING DIRECTOR
Although controversy over the change in leadership took the most attention regarding the dispatch center, one should not overlook the dedication of the seventeen (17) full time dispatchers who weathered through the storm and continued to provide excellent service to those agencies that we serve and most importantly to the citizens of Lenawee County and visitors.
2008 saw some changes in the dispatch center. We saw the retirement of Linda Seeburger after 31 years of dedicated service. We saw the promotion to Shift leaders for Cheryl Ayers and Corinne Perdue, giving dispatchers an avenue of job advancement and opportunity to hone their talents. We saw the implementation of the mapping system in the dispatch center to allow the dispatchers to be more effective and efficient in their performance. We saw the beginning of the transformation to the National Association of Emergency Medical Dispatching protocols to assist the dispatchers, the responding agencies and the general public on emergency medical calls (training continues). We saw continuing training opportunities for the dispatchers to further enhance their skills. We saw the growth of team unity to become the best dispatch center in the State.
