On Friday, February 1st 2019, the Lenawee County Health Department wore red to show support and raise awareness for women’s cardiovascular disease.

The first Friday in February is designated as National Wear Red Day.  Go Red for Women is an American Heart Association initiative designed to increase women’s heart health awareness.

Fact:  Cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year.  That’s approximately one woman every minute.
