Lenawee County Parks provide recreational, social, and cultural opportunities; while leading in the preservation, conservation, restoration, and promotion of the natural, scenic, and historical resources of Lenawee County.County parks are open 8:00 a.m. to dusk from Memorial weekend through Labor Day; unless otherwise stated. Prior to the regular season, the parks will be opened on weather permitting weekends.These parks have few neighbors and some are off the beaten path; but they are well worth a trip to explore our county’s natural resources.
Gerber Hill Park 40 acres14360 Carroll Rd. Blissfield, MIOpen all yearThis park was formed by glaciers which left a sand base, and scenic trails in both woods with tree identification markers. The park recently underwent updates including the addition of a fishing dock and interactive signage.There are soccer and baseball fields, volleyball, horse shoe pits, playground equipment, picnic shelters with grills and tables, hand water pump, and an out-house.Bicentennial Park 78 acres5543 Tipton Hwy. Tipton, MIBeautiful hiking trails wind through a prairie grass field and one of Lenawee County’s virgin timber wood forest. The park amenities include a soccer field, volleyball, playground area and softball field. There are also picnic shelters with grills and tables, a hand water pump, and an out-house.Medina Park 40 acres9000 Warrick Rd. Canandaigua, MIThe park is located on Warwick Road, just south of the town of Medina. It includes picnic areas and a ball field, horseshoe pit, and playground. The main attraction in the park for the last 40 years has been an enormous hollow sycamore tree and the wondrous Bean Creek. Ramsdell Park 180 acres1957 Glen Hill Hwy. Clayton, MIOpen all yearBeautiful farm preservation with a combination of rolling hills, engineered wetlands, ponds, and prairie grass. There are approximately 5 miles of trails, a beautiful pavilion with fireplace, grills, table, and a port-a-john. Prime area for cross country skiing, hiking, and picnics.Iron Lake Park 1 acre12000 block Egan Hwy. Brooklyn, MIIron Lake Park is a public boat launch with a picnic table, located in the Irish Hills.Taylor Road Park 80 acresTaylor Rd. & Carson Hwy. Franklin Twp, MIUndeveloped land with an engineered flood pond for natural habitat designed in cooperation with the DNR and various wildlife organizations.
