Zika Monitoring

Zika

The Health Department is monitoring the mosquito populations in Lenawee County.  Specifically, we are looking for the Aedes species, the specific type of mosquito that has the potential to carry the Zika virus.  There are traps strategically placed throughout the county which are monitored by a member of our staff.  Each mosquito caught is then identified to determine if the Aedes species is present here.  For more information on Zika in Michigan visit:  http://www.michigan.gov/emergingdiseases/0,4579,7-186-77096---,00.html
