County Commission Seeking Candidates for Vacant Seat

 Lenawee County is accepting board appointment applications and letters of interest from individuals interested in serving on the Lenawee County Commission representing District 2. District 2 is comprised of the townships of Cambridge, Rome and Woodstock, and the villages or portions of villages included in those townships. Board appointment applications are available on the County website.  

The vacancy in this commission district exists due to the resignation of Commissioner John Lapham as of December 31, 2021. This vacancy will fulfill the term January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022.

State statute requires the Board of Commissioners to appoint a replacement, from registered voters within the commission district, within 30 days of the vacancy. This appointment will fill the vacancy in the term ending December 31, 2022.

Interested parties are requested to submit a completed board appointment application and letter of interest to the County Administrator’s Office by 4:00 pm on December 1, 2021. The County Commission will conduct interviews for this appointment at the monthly meeting of the Board of Commissioners on December 8, 2021.  The meeting will begin at 1:30 pm and interviews will take place under new business on the agenda.
