Lifting of the Globe Mill Pond Health Advisory
September 16, 2020
The Lenawee County Health Department has lifted the Health Advisory for Lenawee County residents, visitors, and their pets to avoid physical contact with the body of water known as Globe Mill Pond in Tecumseh, MI.
The Lenawee County Health Department issued a Health Advisory on August 28, 2020, to avoid physical contact with Globe Mill Pond until further notice. The advisory was issued due to water testing conducted by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) that detected elevated levels of toxins in the pond. This testing was done as part of an investigation into a potentially harmful algal bloom that was identified and reported to EGLE.
Based on subsequent results from additional water testing, the Health Advisory issued by the Lenawee County Health Department on August 28, 2020 is lifted.
